CWA and Local Legends (Colusa, CA) have teamed up for the benefit of our hunting heritage. Local Legends offers a complete line of Wild Game Marinades and Rice Blends created “by hunters, for hunters” to provide the perfect flavor combinations for wild game feasts. A while back I was asked to test out some marinades for a company called Local Legends. Local Legends have several different types of marinades specifically made for wild game, but but also have some that can be used on other farm raised meat as well.
One of the things that I noticed on the bottle was that a small portion of profits from the sales of their marinades goes to support conservation. I thought this was really cool and was excited to see that Local Legends is doing their part when it comes to conservation. Overall, I thought the marinade was great. In fact, it was better than I was expecting. If you get a chance, I highly recommend trying them out. You won't regret it.

With folks out putting critters in the freezer and all of the talk about hitting the grill I got lucky to be asked to try some marinades made for game. Melissa at Taste A Legend got in touch with me an asked if I would like to review what she makes which I was glad to do.

After marinating in Local Legends Angler’s Choice marinade for five hours and preheating the oven to 350, I put the salmon fillets in to cook for 25 minutes. During this time my wife came home, commented that the house smelled wonderful and asked what was for dinner.

Once in a while I get the chance to cook up some venison for the family, but most of the time it turns out rather blah. I’m usually the only one who eats more than one or two pieces. Well, my chance to cook venison for the family arrived once again, and I had to impress. I knew if I failed once more, my boys might not ever eat venison again.
A huge thank you to Kevin Paulson from www.HuntingLife.com for his fantastic review of our marinades.
Our passion for the Hunt starts with preparation and scouting and ends with putting high quality well prepared meat on the table for family and friends. We jumped at the chance to try out Local Legends when they called us and asked if we wanted to do a taste test of thier natural made marinades.
We have been honored to have our marinades reviewed by Jim Crowley of Hook & Hunt TV. Read below to see what he had to say about our marinades and be sure to visit his website at http://www.hookandhunttv.com
I have been in the outdoor industry for over twenty years. The good Lord has blessed me with travel, adventure and a taste for the fruits of my labor. I love wild game. From the fresh and salt water fish that I pursue to my passion for goose and duck hunting, if I catch or kill it, I fry or grill it! So when I spoke to Melissa Yerxa, owner of Local Legends, I was drawn to her passion immediately.
